Pettengill Academy is an active community that fosters family relationships, a supportive network and a sense of belonging for all who attend.
We specialize in Infant, Toddler, Preschool care along with a Before and After School program. We integrate the philosophies of Montessori and Reggio Emilia in our own curriculum, LEARN. LEARN is unique for well-rounded development, your student develops at their own pace with academic and social-emotional skills for life. This is done through themed activities, discovery and fun.
We have created this Associate Handbook to inform you of our expectations of you during your employment. It is not a contract for employment, and no employee handbook can cover every situation that may arise during the course of one’s employment. Please ask to speak to the Assistant Director or the School Director. Our business is growing, and legal requirements frequently change, so please understand that portions of this handbook and our practices may change from time to time. Pettengill Academy provides lunches and PM snacks to all students enrolled at the school. It is important that students eat healthy and fresh foods.
As we begin this journey together, please feel free to share new ideas or suggestions. We value opinions and close communication with our parents, families and teachers. We look forward to providing our families with an experience unlike anything else; while delivering high quality, curriculum driven care in a safe and nurturing environment. Pettengill Academy strongly believes in parental involvement and encourages parents to visit and to observe their students during the day. We also encourage mothers who breast feed to come in and do a mid-day feeding if their schedule allows. Pettengill Academy celebrates a variety of cultural holidays and hopes that parents will join these celebrations.
